Please note that the bullet of the NPA HELO Defense 9mm solid copper hollow point has been treated and sealed with black oxide that acts as a lubricant and barrier which reduces drag and prevents copper fouling in a firearms barrel. Very few bullets are coated with black oxide because it is expensive, time consuming, and difficult to properly accomplish. The black oxide coating can be rubbed off if someone attempts to polish the bullets with a polishing compound and rag or with a dry rag repeatedly rubbing the bullet. Do not attempt to polish or remove the black oxide coating, it is there to improve the product. NPA Engineering Team.

The NPA proprietary HELO family of products was originally designed for law enforcement and surpasses all FBI performance protocols. Unlike bonded jacketed bullets, the HELO is formed from a solid piece of high grade virgin copper and then a proprietary cavity is formed with interior skives. The copper bullet is heat treated to the perfect hardness to allow the projectile to achieve maximum penetration and expansion while retaining 100% of its grain weight through ballistic gel and does not break apart like many copper hollow points on the market today.

Utilizing proprietary design and engineering methods the NPA HELO Defense / Hunting SBR cartridge will penetrate to depths equal or greater than the standard HELO Defense 223. Whether you are using the product for self defense or for hunting applications having a shorter barrel with less velocity will no longer mean less penetration when using the NPA HELO Defense / Hunting 223 SBR cartridge

Tried this ammo for the first time based on product video, I ran it through a Glock 19 Gen 5, Glock 43, HKVP9, a Sig 226, and an Sig MPX. Very surprised how mild the recoil is for a +P round and it ran reliably through all my firearms and my groups at 25 yards were all within 3″ with my pistols and 1″ with my MPX using a rest. Very impressed with it so far, very consistent and surprisingly clean! I am going to buy some Clear Ballistics gel and shoot some of it through all my guns to see the terminal ballistics but as of now this is my new self defense ammo.
